Over the last week or so, I've had a few small parcels (including my beads and sticks off Deano) left on the door step. It's a small open porch, 1930s build. However, what bugs me is that how does ol' posty know my parcel is not going to develop legs and scarper, or be helped upon its way by another? I had a hand-held GPS left in said place which required signing for Friday. I anticipate a 10 box of D4s (sent out for Puro on the 16th), but maybe they've already been and gone. Frustrating to say the least.

If I sent U this I'll bet the posty would stay on your porch till U got home to make sure your package was unharmed. LMAO

I think that picture was taken in Robusto's smoke lounge. Didn't I see that same painting behind Robusto in his last picture?

Yeah Dale, I'm going to look into to it tomorrow...the mail thing that is. Potentially well dodge. Thinking about it, I had something go missing at Xmas, asuming it went astray en-route.

Are you sure he left my package (oh er) on the door step? It was registered/signed for only. We pay our money to ensure it's f*cking signed for.

Mine pisses me off by leaving stuff outside the door when I'm in, and not even knocking.

Yup, your package was dangling on my doorstep Deano too. Luckily I managed to grab it by the bubble wrap and get it indoors!

Actually this IS me after I've finished the marking...

Is she a girl with a CV in specialist movies?
I have no idea, but she seems to have the necessary entry points.

Must be a worldwide epidemic. My postal person does the EXACT same thing. Its very frustrating. I've even been home before but upstairs and I heard them throw the package on the porch. That about hit a fire under my butt.

Still waiting for my D4s:(

I'm guessing they've been nabbed off the doorstep:(

Hope to update y'all with an 'eat my words' type posting: lets see.

I mark exam papers over the Summer GCSE and A Level period. For ackers rather than amour, you understand. The paperwork has started to be delivered via DHL.

A couple of years ago, some unmarked papers went adrift so the exam board paid me to drive around postal depots in Kent. Very surreal, but good mileage pay. Trouble is it took up a lot of the time when I should have been getting the papers marked.

You have to go to a do's and don't's conference and one of the big DON'T scare stories involved a chap who had set fire to a pile of A Level History papers because he had gone to the hall... you can probably guess the evil cause... and his cigar had fallen out of the ash tray onto the scripts.

I sat there thinking I'm probably the only card-carrying cigar chomper in this conference hall. I nearly shouted from the floor to tell them to stop fucking demonising cigar smokers... but I let it be. ;)

Needless to say, I'll be marking in my cabin with phat ones lined up for some joy through the hours of marking, many of which will be in the evening and into the night.

Tick Here For Cuba.
That's my mantra this year.

I actually mark taped French exam conversations. You can't set fire to cassettes unless you are a real nutcase! For every 19 straightforward ones, the 20th is a candidate being either degree standard, or kicking off and calling the teacher a shit and leaving the room with a slammed door or some such on the tape. I watch EastEnders, so this cheap drama is just swell. I adore it.

The aberrations keep me alive, I can tell you.

Anyway, the postman will be knocking with brown packages, and DHL will hand me the clammy plastic wrappings, all too soon...
