I've just ordered a pack of 5 siglo 1s. Can anyone tell me the best way to store them please. ie. Just put the whole box as it is in the Humidor, or store them individually in their own cardboard tubes or remove all the cardboard. I'm a bit concerned that cardboard might go soggy and possibly mouldy in the humi. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi mate,
ive seen people just store them in their boxes with the lids off or open.

remove all cardboard and put them in the humi, or else you run the risk of mould (this was a topic of conversation on here recently)!!! i'm sure, if you're buying from cgars or any other reputable source here in the UK, if you ask, they'll supply you with a couple of cedar sheets from old habanos sa boxes!!! these you can cut up and use as dividers!!!

hope this helps,

alex

It certainly won't hurt to take them out (as long as you're careful doing so!) and could only improve them. I am dubious about card getting soggy, after all that's how they're stored by the retailers and wholesalers - if nothing else you'll get more sticks in your humi. I spent about 30 mins the other day 'decanting' 25 Trini Reyes in cardboard packs of 5, each in individual card boxes - like your Siglos will come.

Put a few cartons of cigarillos in humi before, the card sucks up humidity something terrible, don't do it!

Never worried about it, have Cohiba Lancerous 2000 in Cardboard in the cave & no problems. As mentione dabove it's how they are stored in the Cigar shop. If your getting mould would be suggestive of too high humidity or lack of circulation.:849:

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to take them out of the boxes because if for no other reason I think they look better!
