  • Laphroaig 10yr - ?20 at Sainsburys

As the title said went to my local Sainsbury's and picked up a bottle, it seems they've reduced many of their spirits by about 30% probably to clear the shelves for Christmas. I decided it was time to try out this stuff since I usualy drink more expensive stuff but am skint! It has a good name and every reccomends it and I must say it is a very good dram and probably the best 10 year old I've ever tried. If the 10 yr is this good then the 18 yr has got to be some hot stuff!

Laphroaig 10yr is very special (medicinal flavours); a great Q/P ratio anyway.

I'm off to Sainsbury's before the wife gets hold of the wages! A week or two without food is not going to kill anyone?

Daft to usually drink 'more expensive stuff' I say, better to drink good stuff, and laphroaig is generally very good stuff, cask strength and even more so the 15, but the 10 is brilliant as well.

Laphroiaig I found as a good intro to Islay whisky and normally have a bottle hanging around to let others sample first before I offer Lagavulin and other more heavily peated whiskies. The quarter cask Laphroaig is a top drink too and not too expensive.
