  • Cigars in Jamaica

    Hey all,
my parents are taking a trip to jamaica soon and bless them they always like to bring me back a prezzie so i was wondering what or where cigars are avalible?
i have read about royal jamacia cigars but it is my understanding that the are now made in the D.R due to a hurricane destroying the factory?
are these or cubans easy to find to purchase and what kind of prices are we looking at.
    cheers
    Dan

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

careful, cuban cigars in Jamaica are fakes. My brother in-law went to Jamaica a couple years ago and brought back some bundled perfectos and a brand called Pride of Jamaica which were very good.
He picked these up at duty-free in Montego Bay. Hope this helps.

Hope they enjoy themselves. I worked in Jamaica a few years back, but on the S coast, in the capital. What a shit hole of a place. THey'll fly into Kingston and then a short connecting flight to the North where the tourist areas are. Duty free avail in both airports.
If they have time on the way back, if they come out of Kingston airport and head down the peninsula away from town, at the end is a small Naval port, disused now, is where they filmed part of the Pirates of the Caribbean.
I had alovely lobster meal there in a nice restaurant, me and the Mrs, 2 meals and beer for less than 20 quid.

As for cigars, I'm not sure, I was working for the customs and they managed to "find" me some nice cigars.

Just thought I'd revive this thread, as my mum is going to Jamaica next week. She'll be arriving to and departing from Montego Bay airport. Does anybody know if there's a Habanos store there.
