  • Mon 13th.More Juan Lopez.

Smoked the second of the MC Sublimes last night, washed down with Highland park (10YO).Seemed like a good combination and the Sublimes are still as good as last time.First class cigar.Off to have a little Juan Lopez in the sun.

Senor Whisky, how would you rank the MC Sublime to the other fine Habana puros you have smoked.

    Youth wants to know.

        Monte LE versus MC Sublime.

TJ Coro, i would say that the Sublime is without doubt one of the best cigars i have smoked this year. I am a regular smoker of the larger MC, and the Edmundo and No2 are cigars i regularly enjoy but the Sublimes seem both stronger, smoother and yet still retain the regular flavour which has made them a favourite.
I have an unopened box of LE MC Robustos from 2006 and it will be interesting to compare these against the Sublime as IMO the Sublimes are going to be difficult to surpass.
The only other MC i believe would be in the same class would be the LE "C" from 2003, although unfortunately as yet i have never been lucky enough to try these out. I believe these are still rarely available if you look for them at a cost of around $600-$650.

In relation to other puros i would still rate them very highly and although not as strong as the likes of Partagas, Bolivar, etc I still reckon they are one of the best smokes around at the moment.I smoked a few Siglo VI last month and i would say that for me the Sublimes are a more enjoyable smoke.

Had my second (and last) EDITED: Monte Tubo whilst pottering around the garden earlier today: really liked them. There was less pottering than smoking I must add

I'm going to indulge further soon, after a bite to eat, and take advantage of the shining sun.

            CJ121,
are these the Cuban MC No7 which were discontinued in the late nineties or are they the Dominican MC?

                Great information, senor Whisky!

I've been thinking about buying a box of the MC sublimes for awhile now and just may do so after reading your review.

BTW, I too have an untouched box of MC EL 06. I remember enjoying one from a different box in 06 or 07 and thinking how much better they would be with a few years on them. But here it is 3+ years later and I can't bring myself to smoke the first one. WAZUPWITDAT?

Names TJ, TJCoro, and I must be applying the "5-year rule" or something.

TJCoro,i think you are in a better position than me; you have at least tried the MC EL 06 and you know what to expect. My box remains unopened in the humidor, waiting for the day when i can take a look at what is inside.I think it is down to self control at the end of the day and hopefully they will be the best MC i have tried when i do decide to open them.

Stevieboy, totally agree with that sentiment.Considering purchasing another box myself and stowing it away in a dark corner of the humidor.
