  • Homemade Naga Chilli Vodka!!

After a visit to a chilli farm not far from milton keynes a few months ago and armed with a supermarket size shopping bag of a ridiculous variety of chillis we decided to make hampers as bonus xmas presents for a couple of relatives including blackcurrant jam with blackcurrants we picked on a weekend away, sloe gin with sloes pciked on various local walks... and a couple of evil chilli concoctions, oil, and vodka, the latter with a number of the dreaded dorset nagas in each bottle (for comparison purposes the standard jalepeno chilli scores a measly 2,500 - 8,000 on the scoville scale compared to the dorset nagas triumphant 900,000 to in the region of a world record breaking 1,600,000!!), so... I just tried some...

I would never actually meaningfully write OMG but seriously, I'm tempted, and owch, and then my face turned red (from a sip) funny thing is it tastes great, and if you want a winter warmer well!

All I can really say is, for heat lovers out there I can recommend it, otherwise maybe stick to a nice warm milk!!

Serious question, does eating very hot and spicy food have a negative effect on the ability to enjoy the rich and varied nuances of a fine Puro?.

Just a thought EL CAT, i have seen loonies eat them Naga's, after about 10 seconds they have snot and dribble exiting most of the orifices of their bodies, perhaps that causes over humidification and ruins the flavor's

I adore Naga chilis and you've combined them with another of my favourite things... alcohol! Do you have a recipie for this or are you just soaking them in vodka for a long period? The Tesco near me used to sell them but stopped a few months ago. They must have had fools complaining that the chilis labeled as very hot were actually very hot!

hehe no recipe mate, just fairly cheap and tasteless vodka, a few nagas per bottle (and some other mini vicious little things added for good measure, forgotten the names of most of them but was advised during the tour that one would be plenty for chilli for a group and then some!).

Sliced the skin through but without cutting the chilli into bits, so just slits down the sides, drop them in, top on and leave for a month or three, it's started getting a lovely yellow hue to the liquid and the chilli's have lost most of their colour so thought it about time to give it a go, spot on I must say, stupidly hot but with flavour at the same time, smell is gorgeous (and kinda scary!)
