  • Saturday's shopping

Had a trip out to Nottingham this afternoon and picked up a very nice little handful Thank you to everyone for your thoughts regarding NC's that you put forward in response to a post from a few days ago. These are some that I think I'll enjoy based on a lot that I've read through recently.First impressions are very positive. They all appear to be very nicely constructed and have some lovely cold aromas, especially the Lancaster which basically smells like a chunk of smooth milk chocolate! If it smokes anything like it smells then I'm in for a real treat, and thanks go to Cap'n Quintero for his influential appraisal of this cigar On The Havana side,The Flor De Cano Short Robusto is a cigar that I've heard nothing but good things about so I just couldn't come away without picking one up.The Le Hoyo Du Prince and The Camacho were very kindly thrown in gratis. The Camacho I know absolutely nothing about except it's a minuto of some description and was thrown in on the basis of "If you like pepper, you'll love this".All in all a very pleasurable trip,a very pleasant hour or so in the shop spent talking cigars with a fellow and knowledgable enthusiast and some excellent service, definitely a shopping trip that I'll take again.I'm not sure about the ethics of whether or not to name the store so I'll err on the side of not doing so but please ask if you'd like to know,I can thoroughly recommend it.Cheers everyone SAM_0027.jpgSAM_0028.jpgSAM_0030.jpgSAM_0034.jpgSAM_0039.jpgSAM_0040.jpgSAM_0041.jpg

Thanks Greg yeah that's the place mate.Wasn't easy to find, the sat nav,as is their wont, initially delivered me to an area that was a long way from the shop but it was patience well rewarded in the end.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

Ahh that would have been worth knowing I guess maybe he's mentioned it to you but he said he's hoping to set up a regular tasting club at some point.I think from what he said that it's just a question of identifying a location.I said I'd send him an email and ask him to keep me posted on it.Small world eh,there was me asking after The Lancaster based on what I'd read from you and it was him that pointed you that way Certainly a small [cigar] world in terms of The East Midlands anyway,as you said the other day.

Nice selection indeed buddy, i've not smoked a nc for a few weeks now. I think it's time to dig some out of the humidor.

Btw, the Flor De Cano i find is a fine smoke indeed........enjoy.

All you need to do now is smoke them an let us know how you liked them!

With the LFDC I'd say dont have anything to drink with it apart from water, the flavours are such that anything else destroys them in my experience. It's a cigar that makes your mouth water anyway
