  • Couple of new goodies :)

I've been powering through my Cubans of late and also moved my NCs to a tupperdor, so my humi is looking a little sad, so thought I would top it up a little bit. I got gifted the one on the far right to sample. I've just emailed the shop to ask more about it, its my understanding that it is Costa Rican but I will update this thread once I know more (the boxes they came in were pretty cool...although a nice wooden box can't be beaten. It was very nice to receive this cigar, but it will be the first and last time I try one of these as they are INCREDIBLY expensive! Much more than a Behike even!
The Partagas is an 898 Varnished......I got one as you guys get all giggly and happy when people talk about them on here haha so I thought I would try one, with the view to maybe split a box or something. I chose one and the shop keeper pointed out it was split near the cap, so she went and got the box, picked another one out...split, another, split, another...........she pulled out 13 898s and set them aside before I got a decent one! I asked what they do with them and she said that she had some customers who they sell them to at 50% (thats 4.80 pounds each!!)......maybe not a bad idea if they aren't too buggered!
Have a great weekend everyone, keep smiling and smoking

they look great chris, cant go wrong with epicure 2s. yet to try the 898's. Never seen one like the fat bugger on the right but do like your idea of splitting the CC and NC so you can make more room in the humi to justify buying more to fill that space

Nice haul! +1 on the Epi 2s - a very good daytime smoke IMO. Hope you enjoy them

The 898s are my joint favourite Lonsdale along with the Boli GM. A truly exceptional smoke...well at least I think so.
If you want a midget to look like a baby, don't put a cigar in his mouth.

I can't wait to try the 898! I wish I had the palette and descriptive talent of Tippexx, then I could write a review of my own!!

More than a Behike? Mad man! And take all those split 898's at half price, a wee split might detract from the look slightly but repair with a little pectin & shouldn't notice the difference.

+1. ?4.80 for an 898 is a steal! They shouldn't be too hard to fix for a budding torcedor like you!

Yeah...I've never seen the cigars before, I'm still waiting to hear back from the shop about which brand they are....they're quite strange too, mine has a pigtail at the end which you light (but not as you'd expect?!). I'll take a photo later and post it up
Yeah I am seriously considering saying to them that I wouldn't mind purchasing split cigars from them....you are absolutely right that a little pectin would sort them right out

                            Nice group Chris,

I haven't had an Epi yet and I want to try and 898 - I think it is the 2nd time I've written that this week, I really must get off my backside and sort it out.

Bad splitting ie looks like a blunderbuss, due to over humidification can be cut back an inch, at half price still a bargin, anything less severe & your on a steal.
