I start marking exam scripts from tomorrow and will do the lot in my shack.

Boys - I'm going to smoke shit cigars during the process. Not all the time, but when the urge hits.

I have accumulated some Guantanameras and some (gulp) Villigers for the month's slavery. I think they are borderline rank - but will not be smoking any phat puros during the marking season because that's a waste of Cubans.

This is not paperwork. This is listening to recorded oral exams in French. If I were marking paper scripts, I wouldn't smoke as I don't like passing on cigar-smoking whiff-handedness on documents. Very little script work, and the papers are just sent off eventually to the exam board, and won't be too Cuban-tainted.

All I ask is for your forgiveness for the dodgy smoking lol.

This work will be done circa dawn for a couple of hours before setting off to the day job - no smoking before work, ever - and then from when I get home until 0100.

I've got this down to a good process after a lot of years' practice. At the end, there's a nice fat cheque. That's why I do it.
