    Splendid Idea, Mate.

Good idea, senor NicWing. I just registered. Let's see if they accept a simple but honest hombre from the great State of Mind, Mexico.

I've booked two tickets for 9th June for myself and my husband. Tickets are a bit on the pricey side at ?125 a head, but the food at Simpson's is very, very good, so hopefully it will be value for money.

If anyone wants to come along as a 'singleton' we'd be more than happy to provide company for the evening.

There's another event in Birmingham in early July, I think on the 11th. It's a Birmingham Cigar Club event, and will be held at St. Paul's Club. Tickets are usually around ?25.00 but the food is nowhere near Simpson's standards. I'll post more information as soon as I have it.

                Hi Nic

There's a bit more info about a previous dinner here: http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthread.php?t=620 and more details about the club here: http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthread.php?t=269

The evenings really are great fun, a microcosm of British eccentricity. Plus those women who don't smoke cigars (which is all the other women attending!) always enjoy the event as they get an excuse to put their glad rags on, so it's a win-win situation.

Anyone also planning to go to the above event in London - June 16th?

                  Last year's event was great!

Has anyone joined the club in the last 12 hours? I gather the joining procedure has been changed (partly due to comments from Forum members) and it should be simpler and quicker, so if you have been put off by any comments have another go

Not as such, but H&F have been incredibly helpful putting the walk together, and the Cigar Book on their site is a great resource.

Well that's good to hear. Nice to think that even a corporate entity would offer help. I know it's not entirely selfless of them, but still...
