  • Cohiba Robusto

Smoked a Cohiba Robusto for the first time on route to work last night.
    Wow.
Since I started smoking cigars there has only been two cigars that have really jumped out at me so far.

The Rocky patel sun grown and my first proper cuban to date the Cohiba Robusto.

    Thanks for the cigar Mark.
    If..

I think the Cohiba Robusto is my very favourite smoke, followed by the Partagas D4.

      I adore Cohiba Robustos.

Excellent smoke, that Cohiba Robusto. One of my favorites.
Business in the front. Party in the back.

I wasn't terribly impressed with Cohiba as a whole when I first started smoking a few years ago, preferring the milder RyJ, HdM etc but eventually Cohiba has risen into my top 3 brands. Saying that, I'm still not in love with the robusto although it's been a good year or two since I had one....I have one sitting in my single's drawer so it might be time to fire it up

They have a humi and a reasonable selection. I was there to see a client and as I had no more smokes I thought I go in and get a stick. several sticks and ?50 lighter I found a lovely tea shop and sat down for some scones and clotted cream and a diplomatico!! It was a nice way to pass an hour or two.

Sounds like a nice afternoon. Class.

We need to get Deano to give us the facility to add recommended retailers details on the map.

I had a single that I fired up a week or so ago and, dare I say it...it didn't really get me going. It was in a 5ct Robusto selection, I'll have to check to see if there was any indication of date on the box. Mind you, the D4, Monte and HdM Epi2 smoked well. I guess with a single, you only get one chance eh. Donations of a 10/25 ct box will be greatly appreciated (purely for research you understand)

I wonder if how long you leave them in humi after delivary has anything to do with how it smokes and tastes.
I say this because when I bought the cuesta rey last month I sparked one up the very next day and it tasted shite, I didn't smoke another one for about a week and every cuesta rey since, just seems to taste better and better.
                          If..

Storage, pre delivery, will be a consideration Mick. If they've been humi stored well, they'll smoke ok pretty quickly. If they are a little dried out, a nice rest in your box will bring them back up to scratch.Hence your observations mate.

I've noticed some cigars I've bought, both from the shop and internet sellers, that some of the harder cigars have softened in the humi after a few days. I thought that anything sold would be in perfect condition. Obviously I'm a very naive newbie.
