I'd vote for Button..McLaren should have actually given No 1 & No 2 designations to the drivers with Button as Numero Uno, Hammi would have cried....

Button smoother and more consistent, Hamilton faster driver, but I think he gets frustrated if he's not out in front, or making progress and getting overtakes and so starts making mistakes.

Overall, I'll place Hamilton as 1 and Button 2nd - Button is a brilliant driver, but Hamilton has more race in him and is more entertaining to watch.

Have to say Hamilton. He is an agressive driver which is what we need. Button is good, but not a go-getter like Hamilton! On a personality level I think Hammy is an arrogant prat lol

Hamilton is faster, Button is smoother. Perhaps if they had a baby together we could make a perfect driver

+1. Button is a more mature driver, his success came relativily late & so handled it better. I was worried by the start of summer that they would let him go as his results were so poor. Had a bit of luck since & hopefully will do better without Hamilton around, if he is given the No1 Status he deserves (smoehtign Hamilton has been given or asked for according to Brawn).
The more agressive driver can win more races but finishes less of them, although the slow steady route has been reduce by the new points system, coming second every race could still win you the championship in a yr like this one, with so many drivers having a win.

The answer to the question 'who's the better driver' (Button or Hamilton) is simple.
The correct response is 'Hamilton'*.

*Based upon any quantifiable or statistical measure you care to employ.

Any other answer is a result of: a poor grasp/understanding of the sport, or, an inability to remove personal prejudices from the equation*.

To avoid any misunderstanding, I appreciate that many people are going to 'prefer' Button over Hamilton, (I do too) but that wasn't the question.

+1 Hamilton. He may get frustrated but he is a racer. Jenson is quick but he is a playboy and while I accept that he is very kind to his tyres Lewis is the better racing driver and an out an out winner.

I also think he needs a father figure to relate to and Ross Brawn will make a great Daddy substitute now that Ron Dennis has gone off to run the production car division at McLaren.

Any Statistical measure? F1 Drivers are measured by the number of World Championships they have won. Therefore Hamilton 1 - Button 1. Hamilton could have won another but lost it on the race when he went into the gravel.
