  • peterson's sherlock holmes

    hey all,
not having the time to enjoy a cigar this evening, i thought i'd bust out the pipe for a change! out of all of the small samples i bought from smoke-king, i thought i'd revisit peterson's sherlock holmes!
    http://www.peterson.ie/pipes/sherlock-holmes.html

the flavours and aromas from this tobacco were lovely! i got strong malty flavours, not unlike strong black assam tea, a little bit of peat not unlike an islay single malt, orange, caramel and honey! the aromas were very autumnal, like freshly trodden on leaves and damp woodland.....

all in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable smoke! a nice way to spend 15-20mins in the cold rather than resorting to cuban minis!

    Hi Alex,
like the sound of that baccy, I've had this pipe for about 20 years but it's hardly been used, I often quite fancy a "Puff" when out stalking in the mornings, must give it another go.....

I've always fancied trying a pipe.....the range of tobaccos is amazing.

I just don't think I'd look right with one........far too young and good looking
If you got 'em, smoke 'em !

I used to think that (I'm 24), but now own three pipes... Quite happy to go for a walk whilst smoking a pipe.

The Sherlock Holmes is rather nice - was the first tin of tobacco I purchased, and am thoroughly enjoying it. The smell always reminds me of orange marmalade, something I love the smell of but can't stand the taste of

it's totally different experience to cigars..... i think this will be my wintertime relaxation, out back with a hot toddy/ chocolate/ tea/ coffee and pipe! well worth a try if you've already got a pipe.....

Throw in a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches and you have the full Dr. Watson monty. The birds dig it!

I hope you mean deer stalking? There are supposed to be some tobys that attract deer. I'll find out what and we can go stalking with pipes and rifles at some point!

You know, Puff, stalking is an offence and if the lady complains you'll be in big trouble !

I'm a Sherlock Holmes fan as well.
It was the first tobacco I tried when I got my pipe.
