Come on the sun show yourself!!!

I got a cabin built in the garden last year for somewhere to escape, practise and write.

It's also a superb cigar-retreat for peaceful smoke moments in Winter or Summer. :D

Montesmoke

Nice size cabin bryan, is it insulated for the winter months?

Wildwood
14-08-2008, 11:05 AM
Daren't light up in my shed - so much paint fumes etc, I'd blow the place apart! :D Give exploding cigars a whole new meaning though...

Greetings from a newbie very pleased to find this site. Best wishes to all.

The weather here in Northern Ireland currently is somewhat overcast, grey clouds well in evidence. Last night, had a Bolivar, when weather was fairly mild.

Hi Wildwood. You into Weller by any chance?...

Wildwood
14-08-2008, 02:20 PM
Hi Robusto,

Good to meet you.

Nope - not music-related name really - more, vaguely pagan leanings... ;)

I envy your cabin btw; can't see my wife looking on this with approval for me, until at least the rest of the house is done up!

Best,

Wildwood

Robusto
14-08-2008, 03:39 PM
Yeah. That's the only way I could slip it in. ;)

Montesmoke
14-08-2008, 06:28 PM

May I just add about having a cigar in that cabin that I have to choose my times really carefully or I cop for a right old moan!

My kids are fine about me enjoying cigars - they think it's cool (their word) - and my wife accepts and tolerates my cigar habit mostly, but she doesn't like to walk into a room filled with a Partagas or H.Upmann fug.

It's taken a few years for me to get her this much 'on-side' about how great cigars are, so I'm winning, really! :D

I used to be able to walk round the corner to the local pub and enjoy myself quietly with a stogie over a pint or two, but that's all over now. Conversations about cigars would crop up because I used to smoke-bomb the bar - but people usually loved the smell!

I just light up in the cabin and blow the incense to the neighbours now!

I do enjoy my own company, Monte, and the sense of peace I crave is enhanced with a good cigar in my garden hideaway.

I need these still moments as the band I play in can be very loud onstage. Sometimes a cigar the day after a gig stops me shaking all over! :D

Deano
14-08-2008, 08:59 PM
Need my own space too.

Love the thought of a little place for a cigar outside to get away.

Overcast and dull just over the border into Scotland, but still managed a quick smoke and a glass of red wine on the patio...much to my Springer Spaniel's amusement, who is deeply fascinated by cigar smoke... :)

My wife was away Thu thru Sunday and I perfumed the place. I've got savvy. I can hide all incriminating evidence before she's home.

We're actually stuck in Colditz on this site! I now look forward to dropping in to be with fellow renegades. ;)

05-09-2008, 01:57 PM
You should be in Birmingham for ridiculous weather - it hasn't stopped raining since yesterday lunchtime.

Due to the horrible overly-restrictive smoking laws we're banished to the balcony for tomorrow's cigar dinner, so that's not going to be much fun either.

Rhiannon

Robusto
05-09-2008, 02:20 PM
horrible overly-restrictive smoking laws

And how!

Montesmoke
05-09-2008, 02:31 PM
I think it only fair to have alocated smoking areas in pubs, bars, clubs, with large extractors in the designated areas.
Its bloody overkill this law!! (heres to designated smoking areas in drinking & eating establishments)
we cannot be outcast thrown out on the street just because we want to smoke!
Outrageous!

05-09-2008, 06:28 PM

The weather could suck a golf ball through a garden hose here :) lol, raining and just a generally dull day, but of course waiting on RM to hurry up and delivery the new sticks doesn't help matters either :) lol

Unfortunately the sun's gone into hiding now...
But I've had a nice morning smoke anyway which is rare at weekends:41:

The weather is dull and a bit on the baltic side here and so, it's definitely much better being able to enjoy a good cigar in the comforts of a nice warm house :)

Reasonable in South-East Kent today.
Good enough to mow lawns.

Am on a Jack Daniels - the first I've ever had in my life - and it's kicking in brain-wise. Will I be able to rise and walk?...

Will smoke off a pungent phat one in and out of the shack this afternoon as it is a bit windy with a moist lick all in all down here.

So much for the BBQ summer eh? I love to smoke cigars out of doors but it has been pretty miserable for much of the time. If not raining then windy and cold.
