  • Ordering an SSD from the states

Hi guys, not sure if anyone's done this but I'm planning on upgrading my laptop with a 512gb SSD and they seem to be massively cheaper in the states. Only problem is for $45 shipping you only get it sent with the USPS with no tracking. Wonder if it would be worth it? And if it would take long?

Swings and roundabouts, you may also get hit with import duty/VAT/Handling charge of another ?20-50 by the post office.

I know the smaller size ones are very cheap here, didn't realise there was such a massive difference with the big 'uns. I always keep an eye on http://www.hotukdeals.com/ for cheap SSDs....what sort of price difference is the 512gb?

Geez the prices of them are staggering, never known a component to drop in price that quickly.

Yeah it's only just become viable for the average user now and being a MacBook Pro user my only upgrade options are ram and ssd
