  • Female aficionados

Forgive my 'newness' but I was wondering if there were many female aficionados on the Forums ? I ask as I have introduced four female friends to the world of cigars over some years, three of whom still enjoy a smoke from time to time although none of them have become 'regular' cigar smokers. It is also interesting that only one of the original four actually smoked (cigarettes), the remaining three seeing cigar smoking as something completely different - a view I have always taken.

years ago when I used to do working holidays to holiday parks around the uk I was always teamed up with women to work with and on many an occasion they had a cigar at the end of the day with me

There are certainly a few female members here that I've met and a few I haven't! Also I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'regular'?

In my experience most women seem less fanatical about hobbies than men (less obsessive perhaps?), so whilst certainly happy to enjoy a cigar on occasion, may be less likely to delve into the interest as deeply as some here do. I hope that doesn't sound sexist either way!

Hmm. I think there is a growing number of female cigar smokers. I'm only guessing so due to the high number of ladies cigar events. I've seen a few on the odd occasion at COSA's

I personally think it's all wrong. Next thing you know they'll be allowing women to have jobs and vote!

          They WHAT?

          It's a disgrace.

Your point is a valid one. Only the other day I stopped to talk to a woman who was getting into the driver's seat of a motor car. I offered a comment which I thought to be reasonable - 'do you realise young woman, it's a huge step from a sewing machine to a motor car ?' The fracture is coming along quite well - considering !

I spent my whole working life with women (most of It as the only man) and if they want a cigar you give them a cigar!

I enjoy a cigar as often as I am able, but due to work/family that is not as often as I would like.

I also vote, but it's okay as I ask my husband's permission first.

RhiannonBW - Many thanks for posting - I'm delighted that you enjoy a cigar, as I do. You aren't by any chance the Welsh witch immortalised by Stevie Nicks, are you ? Nice to make contact with you.

Simon - Despite having liberated Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela, do we take it you stopped short of liberating women ?

Sound's like your husband has pretty much taken care of your liberation. After all you only asked for permission to vote, you didn't ask him whom you should vote for

Eddie has given me permission to reply to this message to say I occasionally partake, and occasionally he lets me drive his car, but this tends to be when we have been to the Prince and he has had a few to many cocktails and cigars.
