Media Connections...

Completely O/T...

Do we have any members of this fine establishment who are involved in the media (TV), or know anyone who is. Anyone involved in Channel 4 commissioning, would be as good as it gets.

Without giving too much away, I'm in the process of bringing together a team for a charity expedition which would doubtless make for an excellent documentary (hopefully securing one of the few world record 'firsts' still to be achieved). However, I know that how you pitch something is often more important than what you pitch... And I don't know how the minds of media types function...

I imagine you really need to approach production companies rather than the actual channel. Probably worth looking at which produced shows which fit into similar categories to the one you're thinking about.

I could of course be very wrong. My knowledge of TV isn't vast, but in my experience most material is pitched via production companies. The channels actually create very little television themselves.... Even at the BBC now.
