CIV posted asking for recommendations about a year ago when I wasn't a member, but I found that an informative thread.

I'm going to do the same. The cigars I've thought worthy of a box purchase so far have been RASS, Partagas Serie P No. 2 and Trinidad Reyes (favourite!). I've also liked Boli RC, RASCC and Petit Punch.
Ones I've not been so bothered about have been the Diplo 2 (boring) and Sancho Panza Non Plus (probably needed more humidor time-was foul). I've also tried Monte 4, San Cristobal El Principe, RyJ Short Churchill, RyJ No. 1 and some others I can't remember as I've left my cigar notes book in work.

I'm not just looking for super-power stuff like the Partagas or Bolivar either, something a bit more laid back for earlier on in the day would also be welcome. HdM Petit Robusto seem promising from my experience so far.

All brand and size suggestions welcome! Ta

For a lighter style I'd recommend Hoyo Epi 1/2's or ERDM Choix Supreme. For later on the Juan Lopez No.2 or VR Famosos. All great smokes and fairly reasonably priced. The '08 JL No.2's and Famosos are smoking very well just now. The Epi 2's do benefit from a few years aging.

        Spot on.

I think Ramon is spot on with his selection regarding something as a day time smoke and the Juan lopez No2 are a favourite, as are the Hoyo Epicure No2.

Sounds good thanks. I've got a HdM Epi 2 resting in the humi at the moment, and 10x JL 2s on the way from the split. I'll check out the Choix Supreme and Famosos.
Which LGCs have you enjoyed Robusto?

Have you tried the Partagas Series D No 4 or the Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos ?

The series D 4 is my favourite at the moment and the Cohiba is smaller for when i need a quick chill out in work.

Cuabas are great. I enjoy the Tradicionales as a quick smoke

I see a few shout-outs for Cuaba! I'll add my vote to them as well. The divino is a wee power-house of a smoke. Lots of flavour in a 20-30 min smoke. 1001 have them for about ?70ish just now.

The Choix Supreme is a great smoke as well (been a while but I really enjoyed the few I've had)

I've had a lot of hassles with Punch Punch (plugged cigars mostly) but when they come right they're up there with the best of them

If you're looking for something a bit lighter but very tasty I'd go for the Choix supreme as well.
