  • Best place to keep your pipe.

    Heyy everyone,
So i'm pretty new to pipes. In fact, the only reason I got myself one is so I can smoke my shredded up Fake Cohiba Cigars (via this thread: http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthr...th-fake-Cigars ). But I digress.
I've noticed that the pipe gives off quite the odour after a smoke and don't really want that going into other areas of my house. Where do you mates keep the pipe?
Also, would I have to store it under wet, ambient or dry conditions?

    All help is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,

a lot of the smell goes if you clean it. I just stick it on a shelf in my living room. It isn't as noticeable as you think it will be.

Do you smoke in your house though? I don't really, so periodically, I can hint at the small odours in the corner.
And how do you clean it? Just a moist towel or paper towels? I've heard of people using ethanol or some other shite cause it leaves the pipes "dry" and fresh. Or is that just unneccessary??

      Thanks,

I smoke inside once or twice a week if its a small bowl as that is all she will tollerate. I have to be careful with what tobacco it is though.

To clean it I put a pipe cleaner through and leave on the window sill to dry. After an hour or so just put on the shelf.

Don't leave the pipe cleaner in when drying (my post wasn't too clear). Also the used pipe cleaner smell like shit. Be careful where you throw them out. I try to put them in a bottle in the bin so the smell can't escape.

Just wipe the inside of your pipe with a paper towel - not a wet one unless it's high grade alcohol. As Eddie says run a pipe cleaner with a bit of alcohol on it through and your pipe won't stink too much

I think i'll use some cheap single malts i have lying around. Like my Aberlour 12 which just isn't very good. Should add to the m?lange of flavours i have kicking around here
That's what i used when a few of my Montecristos got some mould on them......
