This morning I had to put a fawn out of her misery as some swine had dumped a mattress at the back of Short Wood.. I won't give you details but it shook me..
I know this is probably not the place & you guys are the least likely to be of a type that dumps their crap without thought but please spread the message..don't do it!!

This is the most annoying thing, I can't understand why people don't just drive to a tip instead of the countryside, or just arrange for the council to take it away (in some places I've lived it was free)

The only thing I can think of it businesses needing to pay, but this probably shows we should demand proof that our furniture has been properly disposed of when using someone

Fly tipping is guaranteed to get my blood boiling, we get loads at the back of work, fridges and furniture .. all manner of crap, its mostly people who specialise in doing house clearances and don't want to pay for the tip permit, the irony being they can more than afford to pay the small fee.

So sorry to hear you were confronted with such a sight Puff, hopefully the fawn didn't suffer too much.

sorry to hear that man, it pisses me off to know that we have inconsiderate bastards amongst us (in our society) that don't give a toss about our countryside, one of the most precious things we have! it's nice to know that folks like yourself have not only respect, but love for the land and all that lives in it!!

on a similar note, last year we were 'wildcamping' in our campervan in cullduff in donegal!! beautiful spot, next to the blue flag beach!! that night 2 minibuses left off a load of teenagers who were loaded up with about a week's worth of booze (and drugs i presume)! anyway, they started getting a bit rowdy, so my missus instructed me to go over and let them know we were there first and we have a 5 year old child! anyway, i went over and said politely to a couple of them, they apologized etc!! it made no difference!! anyway, they partied hard, lit fires etc!! next day, i was making breakfast when i noticed a couple of dog walkers who i spoke to in the shop the night before!! they seemed to be walking in circles for about 2 hours!! next thing the minibuses arrive....... and before you know it, about a dozen locals appeared out of nowhere and took the drivers keys!! it seems that the kids had destroyed the toilets, cut the fences and used them as firewood, left a shit load of rubbish everywhere!! the locals made them clean everything up and waited for their parents to arrive!! we moved on, and when we returned later, i got talking to one of the locals!! seems they came from one of the nearby towns! anyway, the garda were called in, the parents were hit with massive repair bills and fines and god knows what else!!

moral of the story? respect and look after the countryside......... and don't piss off the locals!! lol!!

Strangely enough my Missus & I were talking about the rubbish side of things the other day, the empty booze tins & bottles, MacDonalds & Pizza wrappers & we put this down to locals/ish partying on their way home..just moronic..
I just wish one of the fly tippers was put in my position this morning & forced to do the right thing..I can guarantee you one less fly tipper..

Fly tippers are shit - self centred, loathsome scum that really ought to have the skin flayed from their back.
Not only it it infuriating because it kills off wildlife and makes the countryside look shit (and the cities too), but the image I have in my mind of these furtive bastards slinging all the crap out of their vehicle at night with that cocky sneaky face annoys the hell out of me.
It would be so satisfying to poke a shot gun in their chest and see that smug face turn from triumph to fear in a flash, and after they've picked all their shit up, blam all the car lights out, shoot the windows through and shred the tyres.
