  • Who has tried shisha?

Really interested in this. Various kits online and are really affordable but i don't honestly know if it will just be a cool fad that will last until the end of summer.

    Anybody have experience of this?

    Thanks.

Tried it several times in the Middle East. Pleasant enough, but chest feels like a herd of elephants have ran across it the next day!

I smoked one many years ago on a trip to Amsterdam, I really enjoyed it as a one off to enjoy with friends, but never even considered making it a regular thing

Tried in Egypt and it was nice but does severe damage to your lungs.

No, I've never tried Shisha, but she sounds like fun.

I live near a dominately middle eastern (lebanese actually) neighbourhood. Actually, methinks it's just they set up shop here, the people who live around aren't all lebanese.... Alas, i digress. I haven't counted how many shisha bars there are along this 3 klick strip, but i can think of 5 off the top of my head without counting.

Never been inside once for a shisha but all my mates find it excellent. Always wanted to ask em if i could light a cigar in there. But it's always filled with underaged kids wanting to try new "drugs." and the owners don't really care as long as they're making a profit ($10 for a session lasting from 1hour to 5 hours!). They even sell the actual water condensed ones for 20-80 dollars in the shops.

I've had shisha a few times before and actually have a pipe at home with a few different sorts of flavoured tobacco and non-tobacco shisha for the pipe. If you find a flavour that you like, it can be a very pleasant smoke as the smoke is cooled by the water in the pipe. The non-tobacco stuff doesn't give you a sore chest the next day, but there is very little research into what effects it has on your health.

Personally, I'd only smoke shisha in a group of friends as you can all have a few drinks and pass the pipe around, not something you can do with a cigar really!

I tried it in Istanbul many years ago, I love the smell walking down the Edgeware rd near Marble Arch. Personally I think I'd rather have a cigar.

Get "two apple" flavour tobacco if you can, that was my favourite whilst in my "Shisha phase", sweet and not over powering. i even went as far as buying my own pipe, but if you do go as far as that, then be prepared for some elaborate cleaning stints! plus some pipes make great ornaments!
probably better just to keep it to the novelty of going to an ethnic cafe that sells them, and smoking once in a wile along with some nice herbal tea.
i was a ciggarette smoker back then too so the harshness of smoking them escaped me somewhat. i found the ritual of shishas very pleasant and relaxing. enjoy your exploration.

Shisha or hookah is great.. One plus factor is most women I know really like it !!

Lots and lots of flavours.. Double apple is prob the most popular but lots of others like watermelon, grape and mint is very nice!!

You can also use you all manner of things to filter the smoke other than plan water. Adding ice is nice, milk and wine are also interesting..

If you're in London get down edgeware road and grab a shisha and mint tea and chill

I have a whole Sisha set up at home, If your looking to buy flavors best to go with Al-Fakhara or Starbuzz best quality and best tasting, milk in the base makes much thicker smoke. you can also get Ice bases and ice pipes which give it a much cooler flavor when smoked. You can get flavors which dont contain tobacco but flavours are not so strong, you can also get E-Sishas just like E-cigarette, there also quite good.

If you decide to have a smoke have a mint tea whilst your puffing is the perfect pair

I've got a Hookah pipe at home. They're pleasant enough to enjoy when your company aren't cigar smokers but they're a pain to set up and clean after too. So much easier to smoke a cigar

Had shisha quite a few times.
Pleasant enough to chill out to, especially over a few chess games.
