Punch Serie D’oro No 2. 2013 Limited Edition
Well this is my first review of a cigar so apologise if it’snot very well written. The cigar was a prize from Simon Bolivar, for a competition he held to celebrate his daughter’s Graduation.

A Campana sized vitola measuring 5 1/2” with a 52 RG.
On inspection the cigar has no soft spots or hard spots the construction looks perfect. The wrapper is dark brown oily and has a lovely aroma of fine Cuban tobacco.
Being a torpedo shape I cut the cigar, with no issues. The pre-light draw is just right not to loose or tight just the perfect amount of resistance,it has a kind of liquorice taste and leaves a peppery taste and tingle on the lips.
After toasting with a jet flame and finishing the light with a cedar splint, the initial flavours are Cuban tobacco with a lot of spice and pepper. Very enjoyable as I like the strong kick.
Moving on to the second third the flavours calm down and mellow out. Even to my limited palate dark chocolate and coffee can be detected easily the ash is solid and has not fallen about half way through the cigar. The smoke is delightful rich and creamy with a slight citrus tone coming through under the more prominent chocolate and coffee.
Moving on to the final third the chocolate, coffee and citrus give way to more cedar and leather flavours, the ash has finally fallen but the burn is still true as it has been throughout. I smoke fairly slowly and no relights or touch ups have been needed. Coming towards the end spice and the peppery kick are back but still pleasant.
Overall I wonderful cigar experience kept me interested till the very end. In my opinion a cigar that can be enjoyed by both the new cigar smoker and the seasoned aficionado. 2013-11-05 20.04.18.jpg
