  • Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente King T Cigar

First smoke of the new year, delayed due to weather and time issues but definitely worth the wait! Was a gift I've been saving for a special occasion.

    Length 72
    Gauge 49
Build Perfect. Smooth wrapper top to bottom and exactly the right amount of firmness. Really looked and felt like a premium cigar. Effortless punch through the cap and the pre-light draw was as smooth as silk. No burn issues at all.
Taste Pre-light there was an almost fruity edge to the taste. Pretty even flavour profile throughout, first third was woody with just the odd hint of the promised fruit. Second third that died away and the wood built. A hint of leather emerged in the last third. No spice, which I usually like, but an absolutely delicious smooth flavour.

I continue to be impressed by Arturo Fuente. They seem to have a similar price to the Cubans I've tried but there's a damn good reason for that. Would I smoke this again? In a heart beat! Would I pay the ?18.79 that Cgars are charging? I'm not sure I can justify that on one stick at the moment but for another special occasion certainly.

This was also the single biggest cigar I have ever smoked but there was no problem with a big nicotine kick (as I have previously experienced).

    In conclusion, pretty great!

Sounds nice! I am yet to have an AF, I keep eyeing the Short Story though. The whole range seems to review well.

Why don't you pick one up and smoke it sometime...

Man-O-Live, chico. You lads certainly pay a lot for NCs over there. The A. Fuente Chateau King T can be had for way less in other parts of the globe (i.e., $200 US per box).

Now, as some of you may know....we Coros have been A. Fuente fans for many years (cut my teeth on the 858), but we've never had the pleasure of the "King T." So tomorrow, solely based on your comments, I will rush out to the local B&M, pick one up and smoke it sometime.

Haha! They sound much better than the ol' "White Owls" don TJ used to smoke.

Hey Ray Jay! You can give my a "Rum River Crook" any day.

Like this. I've still the one left from some tubed versions. The are big, I smoked one in Spain last year and whilst I really enjoyed the taste found it heavy going, although smoking it during the afternoon after skipping lunch was probably not a good idea and the nicotine strength was as I remember pretty full on!

That's a very pretty tube though, wouldn't want to chuck that in the recycling bin.

Great smokes the AF range. Have you tried the reserva no.55 mate excellent smoke.

VTG only smoked one short story and was really pleasant. The cubanitos are nice have sort of same flavour as the short storys. My humidor is running extremely low now so when am stocking up over the next month or 2 will deffo look at some AF's again think there great to have in there.

Nice review by the way mate

Cheers dude. No I haven't tried the reserva 55, will try and add one on to my next order. That tubed version was exactly the one I smoked, lovely smoke in a great tube!

I've been impressed with every AF I've tried. I'd honestly put them up with the Cubans I've smoked, quality just shines through!

And I did exactly that the other day. Picked up the white and black tube rather than the black and white one.

Spot on, muchacho...spot on, indeed. I found the King T to be a very nice smoke, but like senor
tripleXXX, a wee bit heavy, especially on the tail end. I finally had to put is down with over an inch left. I would not hesitate to smoke another, however....if somebody offered.

                        But that's just me.
