  • Drew Estate Natural Irish Hops

You may be forgiven for thinking I am the Drew Estate rep in the UK but if Aaron wants to give John Drew the nod when he sees him next month then I don't mind. This is not an infused cigar, the flavour is apparently achieved by what's in the blend of primarily Nicaraguan long fillers although the cap is sweetened. This is a 6" x52 toro with a Colorado Maduro wrapper and it looks good. It has a double band and a soft folded over foot. It had just the right amount of springiness and it smelt deliciously of sweet coffee. The cap as I said is artificially sweetened, to what end I don't know, but once punched the draw was very light and easy and unlit it had a faint salted caramel flavour.
Once lit, bloody hell, it smoked like a traveller's Transit even when I put it down. That said the smoke was mild and inoffensive, there was just so much of it.
This was a very enjoyable smoke indeed with a smooth, mild naturally sweet flavour that took an inch to develop but once established it was sweet tobacco with an underlying hint of Irish Cream. No pepper, no transitions and no harshness, just an enjoyable smoke to the end.
This one had a few burn issues and needed a couple of relights but again it didn't give that initial unpleasant taste that you sometimes get when you relight. So glad I bought five of these.

Never seen drew estates in the UK, perhaps Aaron could ask Jonathan if he's interested in finding a UK distributor?

Along with the Liga Privada and Undercrowns they would sell so well.
