So had this sat in my tupperdor for a little while and was wondering when to smoke it not having a clue what to expect. Any how I took my chance when the sun broke through on the evening of what had been a very wet day. Boy I was not disappointed.

Had a lovely deep musty smell to it with a dark oily wrapper that had a soft spring to it. All in all a very pleasant cigar in the hand even with the box pressed finish which I feel sometimes can ruin the feel.

Didn't do a cold draw taste unfortunately but after lighting I was treating with deep musty wood and cream very similar to a Bolivar. This soon disappeared in to a not quite as smooth dry coffee and heavy notes of wood and leather. I was genuinely taken a back as my last few non-Cubans had been a tad disappointing.

As the smoke progressed it kept in very much the same vein of flavours with the odd treacle note surfacing which was very pleasant, minimal pepper. Throughout though there was a hint of occasional heat and maybe spice but it came across as a tad harsh.

The burn was great throughout and went a little awry towards the end but corrected itself.

Now I'm not one for nubbing a cigar I'm very much in the vein of "finish when you're not enjoying it"
I took it past this last photo and only out it down then because it went out.

Overall a very good cigar and much more in the range of quality Cubans.just short of great because of the slight harshness.

I'll certainly be buying more in the future. I have a much larger one to smoke as well that came in the AB collection I got which I'm expecting to be great!

Thanks guys, they do it was recommended to me by (forgive me) the guy who isn't Simon at mysmokingshop haha

What I don't think I said was I reckon it would benefit from a slower than normal smoke as well. I think that may reduce the harshness. I didn't really run at it but I think a slower smoke would benefit it.

Apparently, but I ain't one of 'em. I've had several in this line after CA crowned it the number one stick of the year, and I've never gone back.

HOWEVER....being the open minded lad that I am and based on this fine review, I am willing to give the stick another go....BUT ONLY ONE THIS TIME!

Personally I find it tricky enough sometimes changing my mind about something or at least giving something a go again when I've not enjoyed it. Lord knows how you cope when you have 2/3 different minds to consult haha

As a general rule, I would say you are correct. But with all the variables that go into fully enjoying the puro or cigar experience (mood, food, time of day, temperature, last time you got laid, home alone, etc), it's possible that one or more of these events adversely impacted my experience.

In my case, however, I've tried several of these sticks and my opinion remains unchanged. But in defiance of the definition for insanity (you youngsters can go to the interwebs to learn about it), I'm willing to bang me head againt the wall and give it one more go....BASED ENTIRELY ON YOUR REVIEW!!!
