  • We Don't Need No Stinkin' PC!

OMG! I can't get my PC to boot up past the the "Starting Windows" screen - the one with the Windows flag logo. I rebooted several times with the same results. Any ideas what's happening or how to fix? I have Windows 7 Professional.

    Thanks Muchachos!

Yo. Got your Windows 7 DVD to hand? Boot from that and select to repair your Windows, this should probably do the trick.

Try pressing F8 before the splash screen to see if you can start in safe mode

Power off your machine and pull the power lead out, leave for 10 mins. Restart and boot into safe mode, see if that works.

I've got both and whilst I prefer the Mac it will insist on loading my forum pics sideways!

We use all Macs at work and funnily enough one blew up today, capacitors on the motherboard gave out, only 3 years old too.

Safe mode is a good option if you know what to do from there. The repair is a far easier process for a newb like the Mexicant!

True but isn't he in the Caymans? Unlikely to have his disc with him.

Turn off and on repeatedly until something happens.... If nothing happens start to hit it.

In all seriousness though, my money's on Deano..... Given he's a tech wiz.

Think he's back home now as he has a desktop PC.

Do you work in IT? This is basically the answer I get every time I ring mine, either that or 'Have you tried logging out and then in again'

I think its the IT equivalent of a TV repair man asking, "Have you tried banging it?"
