  • GSM, 3G, 4G Networks. England - Europe - Canada : Mo Helps!

Your roaming rates are 2 times, 3 times, and sometimes 5 times cheaper than our Canadian ones.

Now. Can i use my unlocked BlackBerry in Europe and England? You mates run on a lower frequency than we do when it comes to GSM. But 3G has both 2100 in both our countries. Does this mean that an unlocked Canadian BlackBerry should be able to receive UK SIM card 3G networks?

And how do 4G networks work?
Er - no wonder i almost failed physics!!

As long as your BB is unlocked it will work. 4g only in big citys bit hit and miss everywhere else. i think three have it on Pay as you go.

Yup - you should be able to use your BB no problems - which model is it?
I wouldn't worry about 4g/lte - it's awesome when it works, but can be somewhat hit and miss - it's like a waterfall or a drip.
Better off having a stable, decent 3g connection at the moment.
My phone's 4g, but generally I have it switched off.

So long as your phone is unlocked and recognises the relevant "band" then yes, your good to go.

every blackberry in the last decade has been quad band(work worldwide) so yours should work fine over here on 2,3 and 4G if its a 4g phone

Phone is not unlocked. With a carrier meant for Canada only (Bell). They are partnered with Virgin and share towers so my Virgin SIM card works with my Bell Phone.
It seems that 2G is different from Canada to Europe... Guess i won't be getting GSM? I'll bring one of my unlocked BlackBerrys just in case.

            I have 5 of them!

Fun Fact: Bell named after Alex Graham Bell.

Had one for a while. Then I just started to carry around my BlackBerry with the iPhone.

Not very useful if you ask me

Do they have to hand them out for free or something cos no one buys them? LOL I'm kidding.
Over here they have an image of being a childs first phone, due to bbm, and parents not wanting to pay loads for their kids to text.
Guess it's like Burberry getting rid of that pattern made famous by chavs

But seriously I wouldn't worry too much about bringing a phone. You can get some good prices at places like cex, get it unlocked practically anywhere and get a cheap sim only contract for a few quid a month if you absolutely needed.

Can get 4G on EE on pay as you go. I've been on 4G for nearly 18 months now and get it in the vast majority of places and find it great.
