  • iOS 8 update

Have just installed iOS 8 on my ipad air. No problems so far, but not really seeing much difference.
the keyboard now has predictive text appear at the top and a smilly button😈👿🚀. The safari browser now displays open tabs as floating screens that can be selected.

    not figured out idrive yet.

As a warning to anyone thinking about updating most tech sites are reporting majar problems with updating devices older than the iPhone 5.

    iOS 8 update

I have it on the iphone, not really seen much difference. I think when the new Os for the MacBook goes live there will be more useful options, like file transfer etc.

I've downloaded but not gone for the install yet on my 5s. I'll wait and see how it impacts over the next few weeks/months.

I have the new phone and the major difference for me is that I get a much stronger signal than the 5s. Nice size too. IOS 8 seems good to me.

Phone is ok but the iPad is buggered though, crashes, buggy and slower.

Updated my 5 trouble free the other day. Subtle changes to the existing lay out. Like the new predictive text!

Currently trying to figure out which way I wanna get the 6. Don't fancy a 2 year contract but once I sat down and did the maths only save about ?100 over 24 months by buying the phone outright and having a comparable rolling 30 day contract.

Anyone had any issues with wifi or FaceTime on the phone? Or conversely, anyone not seen any problems as reading around the wonderweb quite a few users are experiencing Apple-crapness

Updated my iPad (model before the Air) without any issues.

Haven't upgraded my iPhone 5 as no space, will just wait until I get my 6+.

Are you all aware that although the update is about 3/4GB in size it needs 5GB of free space to upgrade in. If you don't have the space it will crash your device. My i5 and iPad Air upgraded with no problems at all. Don't forget to back up before you start.

no the update will not let you continue if you dont have enough room for the uncompressed temp files, the amount of space also depends on what you have on the device. My iPad air needed 5.9gb of free space.

Also, updating via ITunes, as opposed to over the air, takes less space I have read.
