  • Any golfers?

After playing with a second hand set of Wilson's over the last 15 years (on and off) I finally sprung for my first brand new set if clubs.

After an hour of hitting balls, having my stats analysed these were recommended to me.

    Any other golfers on here?

Not played golf since I was young but it is a great sport. I hope that you enjoy playing with your new clubs.

Have recently got back into it- last year. Can be frustrating at times, but as soon as that 9th hole is done, then its time to light up a cigar and enjoy the peace.

Yes used to play a lot when I was younger, I worked at the Belfry for a long time and at one stage Id finish my shift in the morning and was straight out on the course I reckon 4-5 rounds a week and all free [emoji3] got down to 11 just couldn't putt hence lots of unused putters in my garage!

Saying that got quite a lot of decent kit that I don't need so once I have PMs may try trade some stuff for some sticks[emoji6]

Injuries have stopped me from playing unfortunately, a highly addictive game and can be expensive too haha

The one thing I do love and remember is the Ryder Cup in 2002 working in the bar and looking after the players was such an amazing experience and the atmosphere was something I'll never experience again! To top it off high fiving and congratulating the European team as they came back into the club house was something I'll never forget.

Sorry for the ramble but good times [emoji2]

I play, only started a couple of years ago but a new baby is seriously restricting my opportunities to get out for a round, so I'm not really improving as much as I want to.

We're staying at a cottage near Bakewell this week which has its own par 3 course so I'm taking mine and my 6 y.o. Sons clubs to get a few rounds in.

Will take you up on that once your PM's are activated.

Bet that was awesome working there for the Ryder cup- the greatest sporting event on TV if you ask me. Closely followed by the Rugby World Cup.

Don't play much now can still scrape round to a 15 handicap. Used to play a lot was shooting gross 69/70s when I was 18 then didn't pick up a golf or a decade due to uni work etc.

I managed to play loads last year but, this year I've only been able to play a handful of times

Was awesome honestly I remember Monty being the first to tee off on the Sunday morning and the roar from the grandstands gave me goosebumps! And getting to see Tiger Woods play well different level when you see him in the flesh!

And agree on the greatest sporting event!

I only started playing last year, never picked a club up until aged 45. I'm lucky to hit a ball straight but can get it 200 yards on a good day.
I picked up a net for home practice and hit lots of balls but sadly over-playing gave me carpal tunnel syndrome, hence no play for the last few months.

I can honestly say I have never had an good walk....don't get 'just going for a walk' for no purpose. Same as running. I could run all day long on the rugby pitch but not on the pavement. Same with walking, play golf for four hours but wouldn't go for a four hour walk unless it was absolutely necessary.

Horses for courses as they say.
