So I have had a goatee for around two years, and have enjoyed it (mainly not having to shave the tougher parts of my face at 5am).

I decided recently to try and grow a proper beard for the winter to see how I got on. I have been reading with interest this article and was impressed by this guys epic beard (http://www.realmenrealstyle.com/how-grow-beard/). I was surprised to read about the intricacies of growth, styles, do & don'ts, pitfalls, dangers and the varied appliances and accessories available for the enthusiast (is this starting to sound familiar??)

Anyway after 4 weeks this is my attempt. I realise now that I have shaved too far up the neckline, but this is a common newbie mistake apparently!!

So any beard stories or tips out there?

    Cheers
    Simon

That would be my two year growth lol. I have a patchy growth all the time to stop me looking 12 but it's crap. If I could buy a big shaggy beard I would.

      No advice though sorry.

There's another beard thread around somewhere, perhaps it's worth reading through that? A lot of the lads use products such as oil or balm to groom theirs. In terms of your neckline, it's all preference. Mine, for instance, is shaved to the jawline.
