So out of curiosity, just how many packages have been lost in the post this year? I know the one I sent Sean was recovered so that doesn't count and neither do any seized by the authorities for being naughty!

I lost two packages. Kind of my fault for not taking into a post office. When I inquired I was told kids had been robbing post boxes in the area.

depends on how you want to look at it I say, the way I see it is the moment I stuffed them in the red post box royal mail took responsiblity for them.

The only problem with Post Boxes, is that although they have the responsibility for them, we have no way of proving that we posted anything in the box...
It's hard enough to claim compensation off the bar stewards when you have proof!

So thefts from Post Boxes aside, how many have been lost in the system? IE from handing it to the Post Office staff to not getting delivered.

Zero for me, all packages have been delivered. Amazing really when you consider some of the actions delivery drivers tend to take.

Slightly off topic ish.....i ordered a load of coffee pods that were delivered by Yodel (I hate Yodel) and they left the boxes on my doorstep in full view, and signed for them on the digital receipt stating they were 'Posted through the letterbox'....the boxes were easily 2 shoe boxes in length and depth.

I just posted a parcel of cigars, which cost me 30 quid to insure for 2,500. Fingers crossed it is received by 1300 tomorrow. Hate to have go through all the crap of putting a claim.

Yodel are the scum of the earth. I've had the same thing but worse than that they have taken six weeks to make a delivery to me despite putting it on the truck for delivery every day in that space of time. They have no collection depot. I wouldn't use them under any circumstances.
