I noticed that at least one other member seems to like the 50's cars running around in Cuba , so thought would post a few pics . These were all taken in and around Guardalavaca .

Over at Santiago de Cuba I found the British contingent .



One of my interests is warbirds , though I prefer the WWII variety , I was glad to find a Mig15 trainer there as well though .

I really hope I make it to Cuba before it changes beyond recognition. I find it fascinating.

Did you see the guy in Havana with the immaculate red Thunderbird who charges people for photos? It was piano down when we went so I didn't bother. Classic white soft top and white leather upholstery.

I must pick that up , I am currently awaiting delivery of ' Cuba, Cars and Cigars: Classic 1950s American Automobiles by Martin W. Bowman ' . I chose it because I have a number of his books on the USAAF 8th Airforce and like his writing style , hope it carries across to this book .

Unfortunately I did not go to Havana , stayed down the other end of the island . We went for my 50th and the full game plan is to go back in March for the strife's 35th , Havana end that time . Not sure it will happen though as the outlaw (MIL) has been taken ill .
