  • Anyone else suffering.

As some of you will be aware during December and the Christmas period I suffered from the lurgy that seemed to be sweeping the country, thankfully by the first week in Jan all seemed to be back to normal , so indulged in my first cigar for nearly a month since then I've had two more cigars and two pipe bowls ,all was fine and dandy .
Well my son has had a real chesty cough like a forty a day smoker for the last couple of weeks and now sadly yep you've guessed it so have I.
One of the worst coughs I can recall having a real hacking chesty cough and sore throat what joy !!!!!!!!
At least my collection won't be going down in a hurry .

Fiancee suffers with asthma and has been laid low for ages. Still working as we have a house purchase and wedding to pay for!

But I so far have been unaffected.

I was on antibiotics before Christmas for a chest infection. Didn't help it took me a month to go doctor's. Just picked up a cough and cold again. My theory is that the weather hasn't been cold enough to kill any bugs off.

I had that bugger at the end of October. Bloody yak it was. Chest was awful, and it persisted for around three weeks, which was concerning but I did get there in the end. Some very nasty bugs about,

Good luck with it Oski and hopefully it'll pass sooner, rather than later. It's a shit when the kids get it

I had a cold that dragged on for 3-4 weeks through Xmas. Better now thank god, but back on the scummy buses and underground now. Feel like a sitting duck...

So did I apparently it's getting common as more children aren't getting vaccinated , it's not pleasant apparently treatable in first few weeks and contagious but symptoms last for 12 weeks or more , so hopefully I'm on the last leg .

Not sure if you remember me mentioning I had a chest/throat infection over Xmas. Well I'm still coughing. Nothing like I was but once or twice a day I'm still having a coughing fit. Got something from the homeopath yesterday, just trying to shift the last if it.
Having my first smoke of the year tomorrow with John so wish me luck.
                      Hope yours finally shifts buddy.

Ahem....I don't believe you were a member in the days when ol' don TJ used to post around these parts, but those who were may remember that he used to always find something positive to say about adverse situations, such as the one you are suffering. Why, I bet if he were still around, he'd post something like: "Catch a cold and spare a puro!"

And with that simple phrase, we'd all begin to feel better and dream of all the fine puros NOT being smoked that would be waiting for us to enjoy when we got better.

Hope this helps and get well...get well soon!

Don't think of it as a cold or cough, think of it as nature's way of aging a cigar a little more
