  • Funding The Passion

    Gentlemen.

Thought you might like to know how I use one passion to partly fund our passion.

Broadstairs was Passion Cash Central this week.

    Follow my whiff...

That's pretty good stuff Bryan. I watched all of the videos and i think you guys do a pretty awesome version of Superstition. (One of my favorite tunes). Although I must say that the stage looks kind of empty without a cigar box keyboard amp. I think I'd better make you one. As soon as I have a minute I'll pick out a good cigar box for the contraption and get to work on wiring it up. Your instrument cables aren't any different from ours are they? I'll google that.

        Larry, mate.

You know "You say tomAREto, I say tomAYEto"?...
        I think we're there, bro!

I'm no muso-technician. I don't get all that. I'm forever screaming at the roadies to get a f*cking new stool pronto like Ray Charles in a strop. There's no-one there, so it never comes.

Keith Richards lights up on stage in places like Glascow and gets a ?60 fine. Guess his kids miss out on Oreos for a couple of weeks.

I know I'm talking randomly, but over here there's an actor called Mel Smith who toured a one-man-show all about Winston Churchill. Mel Smith and WC have the same bollock cheeks (got that, Larry?) so it was convincing to watch - BUT he had to act the part without lighting the cigar throughout the play. I just can't understand why smoking on stage is a no-no. Is it because of the rampant anti-smokers? Sorry but they should be made to sit at the back.

I used to love watching actors lighting cigarettes, pipes and cigars in plays because a shrewd director would get the lighting just-so so that it would be spectacular. In fact watching the smoke was often better than the plot.

        Gentlemen. Time to retire.

My missus is 250 miles North at the in-laws til Sunday night ( ), so I'm firing up a Partagas Serie D at the top of the house, opening the Velux windows and blissing out.

        Night, chaps.

Are you saying you don't want a cool ass cigar box amp?

            Great stuff Bry.

My main funding comes from freelancing out of hours for a variety of tech mags, including www.theinquirer.net - here's an example:

            etc

Obviously this isn't my main job, I head up Software and Systems Development, as Systems Development Manager at a firm in Brighton after having spent years in the online casino and then financial trading industries. Sounds good at least!

Larry - I'd love one, honestly, but I can't see/understand what one is!

Listen. The Brits win on irony, right?

I think you're trying it on, mate!

I'm feeling partially gullible and partially paranoid about it! lol

Show me you holding a keys amp thing and I'll believe it!

Or you in a dress holding one!

              I see egg boxes!

Did it get there yet btw?

              Deano.

From elsewhere, may I say you have very good taste in bands and music, mate.

I'm really getting into the Kings Of Leon at the moment.

              Just read those two articles.

REALLY interesting on Tokyo. And Linux is intriguing because friends rave about it. I don't understand it at all.

They're bloody well written too, if I may say so.

don't worry, man. i'm beginning to think that it would be better to invent a cigar box keyboard instead of a cigar box keyboard amp. Why go for silver when gold is just a centimeter further, ya know?

Still waiting on the shipment. We have a national holiday on monday so I expect it on tuesday. if not by then, we may be in a bit of trouble

I posted it last Tuesday and the bloke at the Post Office said it would take five or six days. In reverse, yours was really swift!

                  Will there be hand-cuffs?

By the way - How will you spend your last day of freedom tomorrow?

I can tell you the band is rehearsing from 1000 til 1200. Then I have the day to myself. I'll look through some paperwork... zzzzz... and rest with some legal puff (Cuban) in the garden, I think.

I'm off to start another thread now. Ta ta.

Handcuffs and Policemen (aka Cops )
                        YMCA, mate!

I hope you have no hassle, Larry. Soon after 9/11, your Customs people were so vigilant at NY and Houston on transfers. Back and forth to France last week, all booths were empty. Or people filing their nails waved us through as they yawned. Quite a contrast.

Seems nuts if one discovered stogie - one good one - causes trauma when over here people are moving through Customs with busloads of fags.

Yeah, well if I get hassled I'll just say "Bryan did it!"

I think it being only one they would probably just break it in half and throw it out. I hope they at least let me have the CD if that's the case.

                              Larry - and Drewmidorn.
                              And anyone else!

Cop for a look at our guitarist on here.

And look at this for how our band works close up.
                              This is my favourite.

I have to say I find the whole of the first clip very funny. Just the different elements. I'm not laughing at my mates. I'm just very amused at the lot of it whilst loving it at the same time.

I think I'm in love... Even though this is just lads in the park, we have a bloody laugh!

We're going to do Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick.

Oh Yeah! I got onto the site through the firewall at work that keeps the kids away from filthy habits. When I tried looking up cigar stuff at work in the past, it used to block entry. I'm pleased to have brushed the nape of Colditz online.
