  • The adventure begins....

So i've held back from posting too much in Pipes, rather preferring to read and learn.

While at uni (20 plus years ago) a girlfriend bought a meerschaum pipe for me in Turkey, which saw the occassional bowl of sticky American black cherry tobacco.

A few weeks back now, after much reading, umming and arring, youtubing and chatting to my local b&m and just about anyine else who might listen, i tried some mac barren cube. Just the ticket for a day in the garden when a cigar just didnt fit.

So heres the rub.... I bought a less ornamental pipe. It arived today! I've picked up some more Cube, some Bagpipers Dream and some Black & Brown.

Heres the pipe, a Moonshine Bootlegger series Volcano:

I look forward to sharing how it goes!

Quite a striking looking pipe. I am sure you will enjoy smoking a variety of pipe tobaccos in it.

I've had a lovely weekend enjoying the bright cool days with a pipe on the go. A few bowls of Mac Baren Cube remain to be the present favourite. I've also tried Bagpipers Dream which seems to be an all together more fruity and more subtle smoke. I have some Gawith Brown & Black to sample.

I've also experienced bite for the first time! Think its time to calm my enthusiasm a little and sip the pipe, as per the advice given for the narrower gauge cigars.

breaking the new pipe in very steadily. Just a quarter bowl smoked gently to kick off... another to follow later this week.

Not much more than a newbie myself. But welcome along to the "other side" of the forum (or so it would seem).

That seems a fine pipe to be starting off on. I remember Bagpiper's Dream being some of the very first pipe tobacco I tried...

"I'll take a Mark Twain, Straight" seems like a fairly badass order at a bar. It looks a beauty.
