  • Fav old cigars

I was just wondering what some people favorite old cigars are. Any cigar counts as long at its 15+ years old. Dunhiils, Davidoffs, other rares, or just old cigars. What do you like

I have been lucky that i have been able to share a few nice cigars with friends. One cigar that realy comes to mind is a Ramon Allones corona from the late 70s. I smoked a 85 monte #5 form a dress box that was pretty flat. i kind of thought it would of been better. No depth, no classsic monte or an monte for that matter.

I am particularly partial to a 35 year old Henry Winterman but there are some rules.

    1. It must have been stored in Granny's drinks cupboard for no less than 30 of those years.

    2. There must be no form of humidification involved.

    3. The packet must be open (all plastic removed) and one cigar smoked.

With all of these conditions satisfied I find this ensures the correct level of dryness.

              Before you were born...

To be honest, amigo, the only 15 + year old cigars I've had recently are the one's I bought from a bloke who had recently discovered a box or two of stogies stored in his grandma's closet. Now mind you, I'm no expert when it comes to describing the subtle flavors of cigars, but it tasted a wee bit like stale hay with hints of dried beetles and old plastic.

The only other puro I've come across recently that meets your criteria (i.e., the average age of UKCF members) is a lovely El Rey de Mundo that was gifted to and at Strauters (sp?) during the 2009 inaugural London Cuban Cigar Walk. That one is being saved for the first anniversary of the London BOTL gathering.

Which member of the Coros is attending? TJ, BJ, CJ or RJ??? Will someone definitely be representing the Don Coroleone family?

You shouldn't be mate. Most BOTL on this forum would rather smoke 'em than age 'em.
