Well I've finally managed to get rid of the waste of space ex-son-in-law and am in the process of acquring a very decent new one (although he did palm off a cheap Spanish cigar on me some months ago which remains in its wrapper). Chatting with Mrs Anfield we thought a nice bottle of champers, flowers and cigars for him would be appropriate so, on a trip to London this week passed by a fine cigar emporium to look at getting 10 to split 50:50. There I was looking at the Cohiba Siglo VI, Esplendidos etc. when Mrs Anfeild said '... those look good.' I did not disagree (mind working overtime at this point but knew the price might be a sticking point) so asked the question. Young girl went off and came back with the price for 10 at which Mrs Anfield didn't blink - 'they smell very nice. You should get 10'

So I am now the proud owner of a box of 10 but somehow I have to make an excuse for the son-in-law not to have them.

So how do you tell a future son-in-law he's good, but not good enough to share the Monte Sublimes !!!!??????

Any grown man who knows about these things would understand. You might share the contents of your wine rack, the car in your garage or indeed the curves of your main squeeze.... but never should a man be "expected" to share the best contents of his humidor.

However you could just be less of a miserly old curmudgeon. lol

Just tell him you will keep them at your place and when he visits enjoy a cigar with him. Nice way to make him feel welcome every time they visit.
(It doesn't have to be the Monte Sublimes)
