  • Trinidad Ingenios (EL 2007)

This is a Lonsdale size cigar - much under-represented IMHO in the flurry of big gauge ELs and ERs. I like the full range of cigars from demi-tasse/chicos all the way up to Diademas, but seem to smoke more thinner gauges in the summer. I'd had one whilst holidaying in Morocco shortly after their release, but this was my first when I'd be paying it much attention

The wrapper was reddish brown, had one smallish vein, but overall construction looked wonderful. No problems lighting it (back to using a blazer-style torch 'cos my Colibri is playing up), and I let the first 5mm or so burn by itself. Initial flavours were exactly like a 2006 Fundadores that I had recently - that "TCP" twang that you often get with Fundys. This gave way to cleaner tobacco flavours in the middle, mixed with some grassiness. Final third was a little tricky to keep lit, so I binned it before the Trini band.

Overall : I'd give this 86 now, but can only see these getting better and better. Be surprised if tobacco of this quality is not peaking for many years yet. Won't try one for another months or so. Probably

    Good informative review bnelly...

Got a box of these that I bought back early last year, not had one yet and don't intend to for quite some time. Going to leave for at least 5 years if I can as I reckon this beauty will be just coming to life by then...

Interesting you mention your Colibri 'not working' as mine is bust to, they just don't seem to last very long at all these Colibris' (try winding the +/- screw all the way back to minus then all the way to positive and then all the way back to minus and then back to your original position - this can apparently free any shite thats got into the jets/filter and make it work fine again!!!).

Let me know how you get on with this...?

    Cheers, HabanoSy

Being a huge Trinidad fan, I may have to buy this bugger based on your coments, senors spy and Belly.

Regarding the colibri....dump the byach and go for a Dupont. Easily worth the price, at 40 twice.

How was the draw on this EL Neill?

I didnt buy a box because of my fear of the 'Curse of the Lonsdales'. Went for the RyJ EL2007 instead IIRC.

No problems at all with the draw, perfect.

                Try HERE!

Price has gone up a bit since I bought mine, but still worth the price at 40 thrice.
