  • Hello from NYC

    Hi Friends,

My name's Michael, I'm from NYC. I'm attending NYU in the fall and am living with my brother who got me into this hobby. I really enjoy it, cigars just relax me lol. My brother's an I-banker and I'm studying to be one too. He's been taking me to a lot of cigar events lately, and you meet many loyal and passionate people, while others do it simply because they can, I've been lurking this forum for a few months now, and I can say that you guys are definitely one loyal group of people.

    To many great smokes,
    Michael

      Welcome aboard Michael.

PS. Good work on the username, you must know that us Brits like nothing more than a bit of word play, unless it's wordplay with monarchical and weather intimations...

Welcome to Cigar central, enjoy yourself and don't be afraid to ask a question or to ignore the answers from the wierd Mexican bandito chappy.

Recently, I was given a box of Graycliff Chateau Grand Cru's from a friend and I've been working on those. I'll also have some gum wrapper labels from time to time ala NC Cohibas, RyJ etc. I'm looking to buy a box of CC's (Bolivar RC or PSD4) sometime in the next month from this site's sponsor sometime within the next month or so.

I'm actually from San Diego, but am living in NYC right now for school. I'm in Hell's Kitchen, about 10 blocks north of Times Square.

What a great address. I used to head to New York for a trade show every January and we stayed in a great old 20's Hotel near Times Square. There was an old Boxing bar just opposite called Jimmy's (if I remember right) run by an old corner man for some of the great fighters. It was an amazing place to drink.

I also ate at the Carnegie deli (scuse my spelling) opposite the Hall, and got to eat all those strange things from the Fun Lovin Criminals songs that you don't get in England like a Knish (again scuse the spelling)

Loved New York, would like to come back for about a year to get to know it a bit.
