Would you smoke Cubans if it was all legal?

Off work today with nothing better to do got me thinking, would I have a seven drawer humi packed with top quality Cubans if I had to buy them like regular Joe from the high street with all those nasty taxes?

well no I just couldnt afford it, which makes me think do others not in the know think us lot are on mega bucks when they see us with a Monte or something? never really thought about this before

Before this forum I had a humi but it only ever had 5 or 6 sticks in it max at any one time.... thank God for UKCF

Chris - if I had to source all my sticks from the UK at the prices that are charged here I'm pretty sure I wouldn't smoke at all...mebbe a treat at a wedding, christmas etc

I would continue to smoke as I do now. My consumption is low though - a couple of sticks a month, plus a few extras whilst on holiday. It probably averages out at about five a month over the course of a year. If I were on one or two a day, then that would be a very different story.

This place has been a revelation though. Besides the excellent cigar info, banter and general fun, it has also shown me the Light.

Used to buy singles when I first started out and occasionally I will pick something up prior to buying an entire box.

I would still smoke, even if I had to pay the high street prices.

It used to annoy me when I was shopping online with cigar retailers that all boxes were more or less ?250 plus. Even some singles were pushing 25-35 quid, to me that's just not on, for a single the max I would pay would be 20, and that's REALLY pushing it. Thank god I found this site and the swiss retailers. Ive been able to sample loads of CC brands thanks to the likes of 1001 etc, infact I think I only have about 5-7 habanos brands left to sample!

Then its a matter of trying every vitola from every brand (good thing I started young )

Or just blow a hell of a lot more money that I don't have.

I'd def smoke less.. its a shame that it has to be this way.. surely if the prices were less more people would purchase from within the UK and overall tax income would be higher? Rip off Britain at its worst...

Good point Chris,to be honest i average one a day,if i paid the full wack it would be two a month and therefore i'd save, also i would complain at the slightest imperfection as now I grin and bear or just light another .
