  • Cohiba Behike

    Hello members,
apparantly, Habanos is releasing the Cohiba Behike as part of its regular catalogue. I think for such an exclusive cigar, it kind of ruins and takes away the mystique for this rare cigar. Who knows what price this new series will go for. Anyone here ready to give it a go?

I know what you mean Franky about it loosing its exclusive appeal but I'm sure it will be replaced by something else soon enough...IMO I think its a good thing to make this more available to people who would love to enjoy this cigar but cannot because of price and scarcity...

My understanding (so far) is that Behike will be a line of cigars, like the Siglo & Maduro 5. Initially 3 cigars will be released & probably named Behike 3, 4, 5 etc. Presented in boxes of 10 (due to cost).
Full details will be officially released at the 2010 Habanos Festival.

        See update below.

          And if Trevor says so.....

this is as definitive as it gets!
"By the cigars they smoke, and the composers they love, ye shall know the texture of men's souls." John Galsworthy
"A good Cuban cigar closes the door to the vulgarities of the world." Franz Liszt
"The most futile and disastrous day seems well spent when it is reviewed through the blue, fragrant smoke of a Havana Cigar." Evelyn Waugh
"Remember, commander, no cigars before launch." a Cuban doctor's orders to an astronaut at Cape Canaveral

Let's face it, we are all slaves to the marketing ploys of Fidel & his crew.

Like Kdot says, once we've all bought into the Behike there'll be another 'excusivo' to tempt our cash from our wallets soon enough.

A little bit more information (the names and sizes are now confirmed):

                Behike 52 - a 52 x 112 Petit Robusto
                Behike 54 - a 54 x 144 Robusto Extra
                Behike 56 - a 56 x 166 Double Robusto

(Note: the original Behike was a 52 x 192 Double Robusto - almost a Giant Robusto).

Boxes of 10 are confirmed and will/may have a visual association with the original humidor.

                Probable cost above ?60 (?60 or $100US) a stick.

                Start saving guys

I guess the reasoning from Habanos is that if people are spending that kind of money on stuff like certain Opus X cigars, they can go after the same customers.

It smells of big marketing ploy and ovepriced smokes to me, but then I have to admit I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a single cigar, so maybe it's just me. Still, for those who are going to buy these... I hope they taste like a 60 quid stick !

Well do not knock it until you try it I say.

I have spent over forty on a cigar before and expect to be spending silly money on a single stick as soon as I back in work but I think you have to try these things. I know the feeling that you are rolling up fifty or so quid, sticking it in your mouth and setting fire to it, but WOW sometimes sensory pleasures are the greatest. The finest of cigars is amongst the greatest of those pleasures, for me anyway.

guess it really depends on the occasion, i wouldnt usually pay that much for a single cigar but If I was celebrating i just might...
