Andrew (Moki) of www.vitolas.net has made a new site called http://www.gartrader.com/. It is like eBaY for cigars. It only opened a day or so ago and already has quite a few listings. I will be watching closesly and trying to score some nice smokes!!

I'm not sure. Take a look in the help section. It has a terms and conditions etc.

I suppose the site is more like a classified Ad site as opposed to eBaY. All it does is link a buyer to a seller. The site makes no money and there is no charge for listing.

Each listing has a ratings system. Between 1 and 5 stars. You can rate teh listing based on price etc. So if you see something that is outragiously priced, you can rate it 1 star.

Just for the record, I have absolutely nothing to do with the site. Moki sent me a PM telling me about it and has been asking peoples opinions on various forums. Just thought I would let you guys know as I imagine there will be some very nice cigars that go for sale on there

It's an interesting concept I think. Will be interesting to watch it over the next few weeks to see if it is safe and how any disputes are resolved.

I agree. The site is very very new and Moki just put it together to see how it plays out.

IMHO, the best thing to do is research the buyer/seller. AFAIK, Moki will be adding a section that allows you too list what forums you are part of. That will make it easy for people to research and find out if the buyer/seller is reputable.

This concept has worked very well in the wine world.

I'll be interested to see how this works out. Is it US-specific? Just wondering if the authorities would take an interest in those US citizens offering Cubans for sale...
                      Good idea though.

It's a US based site, but I imagine there will be plenty of people from all over the world.
