Although I am not what you would call a cigar review kind of guy, I am going to take a stab at this for once! Usually my review of cigars are either "that was a good smoke" or "this thing sucks!" However, i am always able to determine whether or not a cigar is worth smoking.

Today, I received 2 five packs of the above cigar from a fellow botl. These cigars are of Cuban origin, and are from the year 1958. They are very small cigars, a tad bit over 3 inches in length, with a ring of I would say 38. So they are very small indeed.

Upon opening the packs, the smell of the cigars was quite different than any other I have smelled before. To be honest, they reminded me of a room in my grandmothers house. They just smelled OLD!

The construction, typical of a CC, a little rough, but the cigars themselves were in top notch condition. They were even a little spongy! So not a problem with the construction.

I cut the end off the cigar with a razor blade, being very gentle. I tried to see how the draw was, not so good. I did however have a tooth pick close by, so i inserted it into the cigar, and removed it solving the plugged end. Perfect draw now! I wish every plugged cigar could be fixed this easy!!!

Upon lighting the cigar, I noticed that I did not like the taste ONE BIT! This however changed in about one to two minutes. It became a very nice little cigar. Not what I expected from the moment that I lit it. Something else I noticed was that Cuban taste. Anybody who has smoked their fair share of non Cuban cigars can tell you that Cuban cigars have their own taste to them vs. a non Cuban. Well after all of these years, it was still a bit detectable! It was a medium bodied smoke too. Kind of surprising as it started off in the first 2-3 minutes very mild and nasty. She burned very even too until the very end. I have never smoked a cigar down this far. I actually had to think while I was smoking this, what am I tasting???? Just because I figured someone might ask. It was a bit earthy with a hint of walnut. Maybe it is because I live on Walnut Street? haha.

All in all, I have to say it was a pretty damn good little cigar. I am glad now that I bought 2 packs of them from KONA. I would recommend trying something like this if one ever gets the chance. My first true vintage cigar and I was quite pleased with it. I just wish they were a little longer.....where did i put those roach clips??????

Its a shame that my phone takes better pictures than my camera! You can see my finger prints!

Nice write up KC and a great experience smoking a cigar of that vintage. Still got that Cuban taste after all these years, good stuff. Thanks for sharing it with us. Tell Farachito, she's got a nice ash by the way

Nice review! I purchased some of these same cigars about ten years ago myself.
I just checked the humi and I have three of them left. I'll have to revisit one of these guys soon. But from what I remember, they are pretty good, if not a little musty tasting.

Seeing that I never thought that I would ever see anyone else with these odd little cigars, I thought I should post a couple of pics of my last five pack.
            Cheers!

You can borrow TJ's. I think I know where he hides it.

BTW, very nice review, but I'm with you. Can't really distinguish the fine nuisances like others claim around these parts....but I know a good puro when I smoke one.

I think Ray Jay took it with him tonight.
