  • Glencairn whisky glass

I've just seen these and thought they looked nice. Anyone got one, or have the whisky aficionados got any thoughts?

They're very good. According to the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, they're the best glases for good malt. I own four of them, two with caps!

Excellent. I've just been discouraged from purchasing by my girlf, so it sounds like I'll have to wait until Christmas...

These are the glasses I use for whisk(e)y.

            L-R
Riedel Vinium single malt, Glencairn Official Whisky Glass, Riedel Bar Bourbon, Eisch Glas Jeunesse Malt Whisky Glass, Spiegelau Vinovino Snifter Glass.

I find it depends on the type/strength etc etc.......

Very nice Michael! Perhaps a naive question, but do you see much difference between them? Which would you recommend if you could only recommend one? Why?

Generally I prefer the stemmed ones (nice for swirling), and particularly if it's a more delicate and subtle dram.

The more robust ones sometimes work best the Glencains or bourbon glasses.

The Spiegelau's are great allrounders I think.

I just like collecting glasses (as well as what goes in 'em!) I guess.

I have a dozen, and love them for nosing. I prefer them over a wine-type glass. I am going to buy another dozen when the cashflow is better!

Riedel are my favourite glasses, I have several for different wines and champagne. Never looked into spirits glasses by them yet, might have a quick shufty

I did end up getting a couple from m'lady for Christmas and I have to say they do make a remarkable difference to the whisky experience. I now have one at mine and one at hers.

                        Loving these glasses...

Especially the Eisch Glas Jeunesse Malt Whisky glass...

Been looking for some of this type for ages...
