Yeah, I thought it was lasting ages until I realised I was refreshing the 'suspended' page.

This popped into my head straight away as soon as I realised the 'System is down'.

looks like there was a leak in the plasma conduit, which was causing the dilithium crystals to run out of phase to a variance of 2.65Mhz.
A Level 3 diagnostics sweep determined that this in turn used a high level memory within the particle buffers.
