Does anyone know if there is still a cigar shop in Ayr?

Haven't heard of one, but could be wrong. Glasgow's probably the nearest place....

Still there Gary, closest shop to me. Bought some NC a couple of months ago from them. They do not keep as many Cubans as years ago, but they still have a good little selection if you are stuck.

Ahh, funny story about my time in Ayr. I was there a number of years ago, before the smoking ban, for work. There was a local pub next to our hotel that kind of adopted us, as we were there for about 1.5 months. This pub used to be thick with cigarette smoke, so much so that my eyes would water and be blood shot after just a few hrs in there.
One time I lit up one of my cigars and preceeded to smoke following a good meal. Well no sooner did I do that then a procession of patrons came up to me asking that I put the "nasty thing" out as the smell was offensive! Hell, I could bairly see the wankers through all of the cig smoke, but yet my (fine cigar I may note) bothered them.

I thought that was the oddest thing I had experienced during my smoking life.
Are they still against cigar smoking up there?
            DB Out!

It always makes me laugh when cigarette smokers call cigars "nasty smelling things" , IMO there's absolutely no doubt that cigarettes smell ten times worse than cigars, cigars smell nice and cigarettes smell rank - FACT, and I'm an ex cigarette smoker, plus cigars never make my fingers smell.
