  • Come on down.......

    Greetings all,

Have been poking around here for a couple of weeks getting a feel and thought it best I introduce myself now. 37 yr old male from Pembs, who works half a week up in the welsh capital as an Oracle DBA and the other half down west as a Postie, wife, 3 kids and an evil cat!

Have been smoking the odd cigar for probably 20 years, tried my first cuban back in the early to mid 90's from a mate who used to pick them up in London, but have only recently actually started trying differing varieties.

My first cuban (more recently which has started this new found vice) was a Romeo Juliet No2 which was given to me for helping a friend move house, have since purchased a few singles and am slowly making way thro them (most recent Guantanamera Christales.....which admittedly didnt blow my socks off but was'nt bad as I was expecting..). Of those I have tried so far which are pretty few and far between I have found myself quite partial to the Partagas short, no idea what that says about me....

Be gentle with a noobie to this forum and the cigar world, fire away

    Dave!

      Hi Dave,

Welcome on board. We're a gentle bunch here.... and the one or two who seem like they aren't are all bark and no bite. To be honest they're quite unknowingly funny and just make you think."Ahh! Bless... he never got enough cuddles!" more often than not.

The R&J2 is a fine, and prolific, little starter and there are more than a few here who have a real soft spot for the party Short! I don't think many would claim the Guantanamera line would really match up to either of those.

      Once more.....welcome on board

      Drew

          Welcome MoaningM

Good to have a fellow Oracle DBA around.
might want to set your humidor to autoextend as this place has a habit taking over before you know it and your evil cat's on ebay to fund your cigar addiction.

I like it much better when you stick to the naked ladies and leave the comedy to the professional, like Ray Jay, Ray Jay Coro

Right then. Welcome to the forum, senor (what's your name...I forgot to look .)

I hope you enjoy your time here and try to keep your posts pithy. You may have noticed we have a few so-called scientist around these parts that like to bloviate a bit.

the bank balance has already been taking a bit of a beating :|! One question i have bought a humidor which arrived the other day I filled it up with distilled water and the needle has moved up to the safe range 65-70 (67 to be precise), do i need to re-calibrate (is that the term?) it in any shape or form or will it be ok?

Take a look in our wiki humidor section for loads of information on this kind of stuff. If anything doesn't make sense or needs clarification, ask!
