  • The 'rush'? Welcome or avoided.

Just smoked a small La Rica tubo in the conservatory. (Took the opportunity while Christine's at Lakeside spendin' our hard earned on her early Xmas shoppin'). Nice little smoke, and I followed the rules, dillegently counting to 60 between puffs. Guiltily enjoing myself untill the last third when the 'light-headedness kicked in. Not that's it's a unpleasant experience, but it is un-controlled. I noticed pretty much the same last night when I took a Por Larra?aga Panetelas for a walk to the 'Offie'. Neither have reputations as being 'strong' cigars. Am I doing something wrong?

    Choice?

I do like a smoke in the morning tippexx, but you have to be carefull with your choice, especially on an empty stomach.Maybe you are smoking too quickly as well, if this is the effect it is having.

Being a regular smoker, I personally never get this 'hit' which tbh is a good thing as I'd be smoking my sticks even more

A bit of a 'white-out' then tippex? There's a heap of nicotine in cigars which will no doubt be the culprit. I know if nicotine levels are high when I start hiccupping

Like cj I've smoked cigarettes for many years so have a bit of tolerance. I've knocked them on the head now so am more inclined to feel the effects of the nicotine, especially when I haven't eaten.
As your tolerance increases it will feel more controlled. Also, a good tip is to have something sweet to hand to raise your blood sugar level if you do start feeling slightly overwhelmed.
