  • Greeting From West London

Hi All. I've been an intermittent cigar smoker now for many years. Started buying cigars at duty free shops back in the 80's and kind of got hooked. For me its not just the act of smoking a cigar but the entire ritual that goes with it - but I'm sure that will be the same for many members here. Opening a new, sealed box, to be the first to set eyes upon the row of pristine cigars housed within whilst inhaling the encapsulated aroma is a source of much anticipation and pleasure! I originally tended towards Bolivars but more recently smoke Montecristos with the occasional Cohiba when funds allow.

Must admit I smoke less now due to the ban in pubs - that used to make for a most relaxing and enjoyable evening, a pint or three (not driving!) with chums in a local. Since then visits to the pub have just not had the same anticipation and my cigar smoking exploits have been restricted as my wife (understandably) won't tolerate my lighting up in the house - so, when time, weather and temperature permits I'm often to be found in the evening on the decking out back.

I've browsed some of the other cigar forums in the past but never joined, but am pleased to have found UK Cigar Forums which seems a breath of fresh (or even cigar smoky) air.

By the way, based in Ealing, West London, from where I also run my own little business

Many thanks for the kind words - I'm looking forward to delving through some of the past threads and to hopefully getting involved with the Forum as best as time will allow. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about cigars but what with trying to run my own business, two young kids and all their homework etc, in addition to a bit of cycling (and a lot of falling off said bike) cigars are the nearest I've currently got to a hobby. Oh how I fondly remember the pre-kids days when we actually had time and freedom - not that I'd be without the +2 of course!
