  • Cigar shops in the Canaries.

Heading off to the Canaries in early January and although my humi is bulging at the moment, I know I will inevitably end up bringing some smokes back.

I have in the past managed to track down some good little suppliers in Gran Canaria, who stock some excellent cigars which are destined for the Dutch market.

Will be staying in Los Christianos this time round, so if anyone knows of any decent suppliers in that area, I would be much obliged.

    Hi Craig

There is a decent little Tabacos on the main drag opposite the church square.

If you get the chance a visit to Puerto del la Cruz in the north of the island is worthwhile for both sightseeing and the purchase of cigars.

Hope you have a good trip mate

sorry for hijacking, but I didn't want to start another Canaries thread ..

my dad is going down there in January too, and as much as I would like him to wander around looking for cigars, I'll probably settle for some Duty Free shopping at the airport - any of you know how the prices compare?

Most of the prices are reasonable. It`s just trying to find a decent retailer with a good selection that is the problem.

            Poor!

Found the prices to be expensive in the cigar shops TBH. I found the airport selection to be piss poor and very expensive. Not impressed at all unfortunately.

Prices have certainly increased over the past eighteen months for sure!

crap - took a chance and had my dad look for smokes at the airport, unfortunately I didn't give him any indicator as to what the prices would be .. he's coming home later today, so he might be coming home with expensive smokes then

I thought the choice was very poor indeed Bogner.

The main "estanco" in Gran Canaria:

                    El Rinc?n del Fumador
                    c/Albareda, 23
                    Las Palmas de Gran Canaria,
                    Islas Canarias,
                    Espa?a

it's a family business, don't expect anything spectacular?
